artistry & design
With a wide variety of talents and a drive to always do everything at one-hundred-percent, Megan doesn’t fit into many boxes. Her adoration of literature, natural born curiosity, and old-fashioned traits make this Alabama-born designer a natural traveler and artist, capturing the world through her own unique lens in her designs and overall aesthetic.
Her education and training taught her taught her how to design and curate costumes for film and television (BFA in Costume Design - SCAD, Savannah, GA 2012), how to lead a team by example, meeting each person as they are, and helping to place them in roles where they can find the most fulfillment, joy and success (Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management - CMI, London, England, 2019), and teaching her how to strategically grow and launch fashion-based businesses (Masters of Business Administration (MBA) - University of the Arts: London College of Fashion, 2019), from calculating production costs and overheads, sourcing materials and negotiating with suppliers - to buying and merchandizing for specific store markets in order to achieve the most sell-through and obtain the highest ROI for company stakeholders.
Her professional background includes Retail Management and Store Merchandising; On-Set Costuming and Tailoring for various Feature Films, Television Series, and Photoshoots; and Product Design and Creation, Branding and Brand Management, Social Media and Website Design, and Business Planning and Strategy for her own business Lord and Lady, as well as others.
Megan’s upbringing instilled in her the desire to always do her best, but also taught her a love of sewing, baking, and recipe creation (due to her grandmother being a home economics teacher). Her adoption into a Christian home allowed her to experience a love from Jesus that she hopes spills over into everything she does, despite difficulties and struggles that are inevitable, always trying to find the bright side in each situation.
When time permits, Megan also loves to travel to new places, paint, read, work on her writing, brush up on her Welsh and French, and is currently trying to build a ‘homestead’ eco-friendly garden. She also loves running with her dog, Carolina, and hiking in new National Parks (possibly just so she can add the token to her walking stick). Megan is a recovering perfectionist, currently on a path to find beauty and meaning in the imperfect, the unfinished, and in seasons of waiting. She dreams of one day opening a Lord and Lady store with it’s own full-fledged clothing label, and a little bakery inside, (but she also has the business plan and strategy to someday accomplish this! When funding or business partnership permits.)
